GeoPic II geotagging unit for Nikon cameras
by Roderick Stewart Date Added: Sunday 20 July, 2008
I'm writing this review before my GeoPic II arrives.

I've spent a lot of time working out how to geotag my photos. I need high accuracy because I will be using them for photogrammetry.

Using the Nikon cable with a hand-held GPS is very bulky. Anyway, I need my hand-held for other things.

Geotagging software is time-consuming. The big problem is getting the camera time synchronised with the GPS time - I ended up taking a photo of the GPS display and using that as a time offset in geotag (geotag.sourceforge.net).

GeoPic II does everything I want to do, and does it very cleverly. I can't fail to be impressed when it gets here.

Suggestions for GeoTag III:

1) There should be an option in the blue mode to manually specify the location. I'm not sure how this is achievable with the current hardware.
2) Record the direction and the tilt of the camera.
